5-Feet On A Good Day

Lifestyle of the Vertically Challenged

High on Caffeine

on January 31, 2012

I wouldn’t consider myself to be a caffeine addict, but I can’t deny that I need a cup of coffee every morning to get me started and I drink a few cups of tea a day.

I don’t know how much truth there is to the belief that coffee stunts your growth, but I do recall being a coffee drinker during my prime growing years. So maybe it did have an effect on my height. Who knows.

To make up for it’s growth stunting affects, I believe there is a coffee company out there that aims to make short people feel better about themselves.

Starbucks.

I rarely drink Starbucks, because, well a $5 cup of coffee just doesn’t fit into my daily budget.

But every now and then, when I’m in Starbucks city, aka Manhattan, I’ll treat myself to a special Starbucks beverage, particularly their Frappuccino’s.

Now I don’t really understand why they have to have such pretentious size names. Maybe to make people feel like they’re getting something fancy for their five bucks. “Ah yes, May I have a venti cafe mocha with an extra shot of espresso? And can I have extra napkins. I don’t want to stain my Chanel suit”

Yeah, that’s not me.

I tend to stick to the “Tall” size when I go to Starbucks, partly because it’s the least expensive, but also because I love the fact that the shortest size is called “Tall.”

Normally, at every other coffee place, the smallest size is just called Small, but Starbucks makes the shorties feel extra special by naming their smallest size Tall.

I like your thinking Starbucks!
